CROCHET
My interest in learning how to crochet started just over a year ago, inspired by my great nan, who was always working on a hand-crafted project. She had an intrinsic eye for colour, and her patterns are captivating.
I spent the first few months reading crochet books, and step by step, I began to develop and refine my techniques, embracing a resilient beginners mindset. I now hand-craft my own gifts and accessories, and I love the creative freedom my work provides.
SPIRAL
My spiral design is my favourite way to blend colour and textures, working in the round to create a range of sizes and styles.
Through creating these bags, I was able to recognise the creative potential of the sunflower design, which inspired my future work.
SUNFLOWER
ACCESSORIES
My accessories range from chunky bucket hats to delicate scrunchies. I love to challenge myself by working across a range of different yarns and stitches.
COSTUME INSPIRATION
INSPIRED BY ERIC ROHMER'S "FULL MOON IN PARIS"
French New Wave director Eric Rohmer inspires me with his ability to capture the personality of his subjects. I admire the costume design that adds depth to each character, so much so that I was inspired to design and crochet a statement scarf myself!
GIFT BAGS
Since becoming more experienced, I love creating personalised gift bags for my friends and family. My friend Marjorie (see right) sports her bag, tailored to both her wardrobe and her vibrant personality.
